So hi.

I’ve been off composing like I wanted to.

But my audio files are too big to share.

Tumblr scares me now. I’ve been away so long.

Steve Reich's Music For Six Marimbas

This is the kind of music I want to write. Rhythmic patterns, slowly changing over time, with added textures all along the way. The pad it all creates, it’s something I can cuddle up to. The landscape of sound just makes my spine tingle.

My band recorded this about four months ago. It was our first formal rehearsal, and I feel like this is a good representation of us getting a feel for each other and the kinds of sounds we could make and the kinds of songs we can perform. We’re heard here doing a rendition of Medeski Martin & Wood’s The Dropper

The Elsewheres/The Dropper (Medeski/Martin/Wood)

would anyone care to listen to my friends' band?

These guys have a good grove going. They remind me a bit of the 13th Floor Elevators. Low fi trippy kind of a sound. It’s great!
